The LilyDrip is designed for use with cone-shaped drippers. Normally, when coffee grounds are poured into the dripper, they form a deep “V” shape, with the thickest layer in the center. However, after using the LilyDrip LOTOS, the coffee grounds take on a flat-bottom shape, resulting in a more even thickness of the grounds. This helps reduce the contact time between water and coffee, preventing the accumulation of fine grounds at the bottom, which can lead to over-extraction.

The Birth of LilyDrip

The inspiration for the invention reportedly came when the creator’s daughter accidentally placed a glass marble in the dripper, resulting in an exceptionally delicious cup of coffee. After two months of improvements, it was named “LilyDrip” in honor of his daughter.

Achieving More Even Extraction

By placing the LilyDrip LOTOS in the cone dripper, you can transform it into a flat-bottomed cup suitable for cake-shaped filters. This expands the surface area for water flow and reduces the thickness of the grounds, thereby increasing extraction speed.

Brewing Suggestions

If you have not used a flat-bottomed filter before, try using the center pouring method after incorporating the LilyDrip LOTOS for brewing.
