Estate Introduction

The Emerald Estate (Hacienda Esmeralda) in Panama is one of the most renowned farms in the world and the true birthplace of Geisha coffee.
This lot comes from the Fundador production area—the pioneering zone where Geisha was first planted. Its cool dry season and high-altitude microclimate give rise to the classic floral aroma and vibrant tropical fruit notes that define the variety.
The farm is famous for its Red Label (Esmeralda Special) series. These high-elevation micro-lots (commonly above 1,950 m) routinely score 91+ in cupping and have repeatedly won Best of Panama championships, establishing them as the global symbol of the finest Geisha—representing exceptional purity, intense aromatics, and uncompromising quality.

Geisha Coffee tier

“Red Label” is the highest grading system for Geisha coffee.
Red Label lots are primarily selected micro-lots from elevations above 1,600–1,950 meters (some exceeding 1,950 m), such as the high-altitude blocks of Jaramillo, Cañas Verdes, Fundador, and others. These must achieve cupping scores of 90+ points (commonly 91+). They come from the farm’s absolute best terroir parcels with extremely limited production volume. A portion of these lots enter the annual Esmeralda Special Auction, frequently fetching top prices and representing the absolute pinnacle of global Geisha quality.
Compared to:
– Green Label (Private Collection): typically 87–90 points
– Blue Label (Geisha 1500): lower elevation, more accessible quality tier
Red Label symbolizes the strictly selected “crown jewel” essence of terroir — the ultimate legendary pursuit for serious specialty coffee enthusiasts.

Packaging Design Concept

The packaging uses a soft pink-orange sunset as its base tone, evoking the high-mountain sunset over Fundador block.
At the center stands a white-haired young girl draped in a red maple leaf scarf, crowned by a golden sun, with a white parrot perched on her shoulder—symbolizing the exotic elegance and freedom of Geisha coffee.
Surrounding her are branches of red maple and cherry blossoms, echoing the warm fruit notes of mango, apricot, and pineapple; the girl’s jasmine-like gentle femininity ties directly to the floral jasmine aroma.
The overall style blends Eastern poetic sensibility with tropical romance, representing this Red Label Special Natural lot as a “spring dawn breaking through mountain mist.”
The girl embodies the pure, enchanting allure of Geisha beans; the parrot signifies rarity and exotic allure.
It invites the drinker to immerse in the tropical garden dreamscape of Fundador, turning every unboxing into a luxurious sensory journey—like greeting a radiant sunrise.
